Wherever there's a wrestling match, Yoshigai is there as the Play-by-play announcer. He is based on Yudetamago's neighbor, Yoshio Yoshigai (吉開吉男). His character design and hairstyle are drastically changed for the original anime.

In Kinnikuman: Scramble for the Throne he is replaced by Announcer Sekiguchi (瀬木具地).
