Goliath is the pet guard dog of the Yozakura Family, who has protected the family for several generations. He is seen to be very protective of the Yozakura family, not allowing anyone to sit on him that he does not trust and willing to use himself as a shield to protect them. As a result of this, he is seen to be very aggressive when protecting the family or sensing danger but is calm otherwise.

Goliath is an Okami Dog, which is a special breed that has continuously improved since the Mid-Edo Era. He has been protecting the Yozakura family since Mutsumi's Great-Great Grandmother's time.
