Mario Fernández Castaño was a Cuerpo Nacional de Policía officer who aided Leon S. Kennedy in his investigation of the country and rescue operation of the President's daughter.

In autumn of 2004, Officer Fernández was ordered by his chief to act as a backup with a newbie officer for agent Leon S. Kennedy when he was sent to Spain in search of Ashley Graham, the US President's daughter.
