He is the brother of the late actor Luis Alfonso Mendoza and father of the also actors Monserrat Mendoza, Itzel Mendoza and Ricardo Mendoza Jr., he is also the uncle of Gerardo Mendoza and Nayeli Mendoza and is married to the also actress Rocío González.
