Kana Hanazawa used to be a junior idol in Akihabara, where hundreds of people came to watch her. It was her time as an idol that she got her breakthrough in her acting career in commercials before becoming a voice actor.

On July 8, 2020, she announced her marriage to fellow voice actor Kensho Ono. On September 14, 2025, she announced her divorce.
